A mole’s rapid growth or change could indicate the presence of nodular melanoma. Anyone can get this type of melanoma; however, it seems to be more prevalent in men over 50 and in individuals with pale skin.
Furthermore, it’s highly dangerous. Nodular melanoma requires early diagnosis and excision since it spreads quickly and can penetrate deeply into the skin very rapidly. It frequently starts as a lump that is rapidly growing (over a few weeks to months), or it may appear as a new lump or within an existing mole anywhere on the body; however, it is most frequently detected on exposed parts of the neck and head.
Nodular melanoma isn’t always dark or colored, but the primary telltale signs are that it’s elevated, frequently symmetrical, firm to the touch, and changing or growing. It may be one color or a variety of colors, most frequently black, red, or skin-colored.
It may seem like a dome-shaped, hard, and frequently symmetrical lump, or it could have a clean, rough, crusted, or warty surface, an ulcer or bleeding, or itching or stinging. Additionally, it may be larger than most moles.
