6. Outbreak of reddish-yellow bumps

The appearance of these bumps can often be mistaken for pimples, but unlike pimples, they develop a yellowish hue. The areas where they occur are usually the thighs, crooks of the elbow, back of the knees, and buttocks.

This condition is called Eruptive Xanthomatosis and gradually disappears once diabetes is treated and kept under control. These areas are often highly irritated and develop unbearable itching, so it is highly recommended to address the issue promptly.

When diabetes is untreated and there is an excess of insulin in the blood, the body has difficulty breaking down fats in the bloodstream. As a result, the levels of fats in the body increase and can emerge on the surface, creating these reddish and itchy bumps.
