7. Headaches

Frequent headaches can be a sneaky sign that you may be anemic. In the context of a blood disorder such as anemia, headaches usually indicate that the brain isn’t getting enough oxygen. More specifically, a lack of oxygen in the bloodstream causes the arteries in the head to swell, causing pain. If there’s not enough blood flowing through your arteries, you may get more headaches.

Keep in mind that, as with some of the other symptoms on this list, headaches alone aren’t a clear sign that you are anemic. Headaches tend to accompany many other illnesses and diseases, and the only way you can know for sure where they are coming from is to have your GP or a doctor run a few tests.
