Is It Better to Drink More Coffee?

Does increasing your coffee intake genuinely lower your chance of getting Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease? From the data that we have, we can conclude that it is too early to know that.

At this point, there are not enough studies to show that drinking coffee can reduce one’s chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

The purpose of those studies is to further the epidemiological data and show that there are elements in coffee that are helpful in delaying cognitive deterioration. It’s intriguing, but are we advocating coffee as a treatment? Definitely not.

The truth is that the number of randomized, controlled clinical trials, or the so-called “gold standard” of research, on how coffee consumption affects dementia and Parkinson’s disease is surprisingly low.
