Can Drinking Coffee Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer’s?

Phenylindanes, a class of chemical substances, were shown to significantly reduce the two amyloids’ tendency to aggregate in the lab, according to the study’s findings.

According to the National Institute on Aging, these amyloid aggregates, also known as plaques, are frequently seen as a significant predictor — and maybe a cause — of Alzheimer’s disease.

Although all three extracts demonstrated some benefit, dark-roasted coffee extracts—both caffeinated and decaffeinated—performed the best against plaque development.
