2. Depression and Other Mental Health Conditions

Experts still don’t know the exact cause of why some people experience anxiety and depression as clinical mood disorders while others aren’t as severely affected when the related emotions start showing up.

There are lots of factors that are potentially at play, including environmental, genetic, and psychological triggers, as well as traumatic or major stressful events in the past. Everyone is different; some people somehow manage to stay composed and relaxed when facing difficulties, while others are easily bothered by stress.

Some of the most common factors that can lead to depression or other mental health issues are experiencing traumatic or nerve-racking events (such as financial issues or the death of a loved one) or going through a major life change.

According to a recent study, around 20% to 25% of people who experience these kinds of events will go on to develop depression.
