Berries
Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries are delicate fruits and shouldn’t be washed until they’re ready to eat. Keep them in the refrigerator in dry, covered containers.
But before you put them in there, wash strawberries, raspberries, and other berries with vinegar and water. This will disinfect against mold, which in turn lengthens the shelf life by weeks. Then rinse with water and dry thoroughly.
Lemons
Extend the shelf life of clementines, lemons, grapefruit, limes, and oranges by storing them in your crisper drawer in the fridge.
If you a squeeze of citrus juice for your drink or recipe, the best fruit storage tip we can give you is this: Puncture a lemon with a fork instead of cutting it in half. This way, you can squeeze out what you’ll need without drying the entire lemon.
