Power nap tip 2: Make sure you time it well! (cont.)

You should avoid taking a power nap after 3 p.m. and even 4 p.m., as it may end up impacting your sleep cycle, and you will not be able to rest as well when you go to sleep at night. Yet, this rule changes if you are a night owl since the best time for your nap would be somewhere between 5 and 6 p.m., as it can help you get through the evening better. Keep in mind that this should be a power nap and not a full-fledged one, as a longer snooze period will ruin your night’s sleep!

Another great time when you could integrate a quick power nap or a longer hour or two nap is before you have an important event, be it that you have to talk in public or you have to do something that is more demanding. Napping is known to improve your cognitive engagement after you wake up, along with alertness, so a power nap may just help you be more productive than you ever imagined!
