Surprisingly healthy habit: Biting your nails
People get grossed out by you biting your nails because of, well, GERMS! It’s a well-known fact that our hands are covered in germs.
And sticking them in your mouth is a one-way ticket to “Flu City,” with local stops in the Lower Gastrointestinal Distress District and Fever Land! Also, that clicking noise you make when your teeth bite down on your nail is absolutely annoying.
So what do the experts have to say about this? Even though it’s true that biting your nails means introducing germs directly into your face hole, it isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Some physicians have theorized that this small-scale exposure to germs helps you build up your immunity, making you less likely to get sick in the long run.
But what can we say: You’re on your own with that clicking sound, though. And if you decide you want to kick this nail-biting habit, Amazon has a fantastic pair of clippers we think you’d like.
