Diabetes Myth 4: Exercising will lead to low blood sugar so you should avoid it!

Another diabetes myth is the one that you should skip working out if you have type 2 diabetes because it can lower your blood sugar levels! We got some “bad” news for you: even if you have diabetes you cannot skip your workout!

If anything, it is actually recommended that you get some exercise in because it is an important factor in controlling the disease. If you take pills or are on insulin, your doctor is going to recommend you start working out or getting in some sort of exercise so that your body can better balance itself. This doesn’t mean you should do whatever comes to mind: discuss with your doctor the type of exercise that is appropriate for you!
