4. Caffeinated beverages or coffee in general

It could be suggested that you give up coffee if you have an early-morning blood test. This is mostly due to caffeine’s significant impact on the heart and blood pressure.

You will seem dehydrated even when you are not, since caffeine is a diuretic and eliminates water from the body. 500 ml of water should be used to replace the coffee cup. Drinking a lot of water 15 minutes before a urine test is highly advised.

5. Supplements or any specific medication

It is recommended to have lab tests performed either before or 10–14 days after taking any medications you are thinking about taking. The diagnosis of infections, cancer, anemia, and heart disease can be impacted by dietary supplements and vitamins. For proper detection, the doctor could refer you to a different or modified testing procedure.
Be sure to let the doctor know before the blood tests if you are taking any medications that must be stopped.

  1. I’ve only heard of some of the suggestions when fasting was necessary. I was told for most tests you want things as normal as possible so they can see what your levels are under normal circumstances.
