6. Vascular brain damage

Vascular brain damage is the second most frequent type of mental disorder, and it typically results from insufficient blood flow to the brain. This occurs as people age, and it’s linked to other health concerns, such as high blood pressure, atherosclerotic disease, and diabetes. The most frequent cause of vascular dementia is a stroke.

Depending on the source of the infection, the symptoms of vascular dementia might develop suddenly or over time. Some of the early warning symptoms might include things like confusion and disorientation. But as the disease develops, people might also struggle to finish their tasks for the day or maintain their focus for extended periods of time. In addition to vision issues, vascular brain issues can sometimes trigger hallucinations.
