Rice

The same as with the potatoes, try not to leave rice out at room temperature after you cook it. If you don’t store it properly, cooked rice can grow bacterial spores that are capable of producing poisons that harm your body.

And guess what? These devilish spores actually thrive when you keep the rice at room temperature, rather than in the fridge. In order to avoid food poisoning, just make sure you store it in the fridge in an airtight container right after you finished cooking it.

Otherwise, try cooking only the amount of rice you know you can eat. Better safe than sorry!

  1. Carrots and celery you can absolutely use them yet. Just chop them up assuming they are raw one put them in the freezer

  2. Basically what they’re saying for all these is it don’t leave them out on the counter and then eat them later as leftovers well I don’t know anybody who does such a thing of course you refrigerate it and then you reheat it completely based on this article I don’t think I’m going to read or trust anything else on this website

  3. I am 75 years old and have no disease or any medicine to take like any old person does, heating rice which is 3 days old, chicken or potato or carrot or any food that you mention is common in Asian countries and has no adverse effect in our body and I my family and friends are doing it for 75 years of my life that I know. may it be true for some people who have weak guts cause I heard and read some people die by eating leaf over rice or pasta.

  4. This article is ridiculous and instilling fear. I’ve eaten every single one of these foods hundreds of times over the years, heated and unheated, as leftovers, and never, ever have I gotten sick. I’m 75 years old so Ive been doing this for that long. As a matter of fact, many of these foods taste better and have more flavor and intensity when leftover and reheated. Back up your claims with data please!

  5. I’ve eaten everything on this list as leftovers, except beets, which I don’t like anyway. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I’ve never had a problem.
