#3 A Mole’s Color Is Uneven
Normal moles can have a variety of colors. They are typically a uniformly colored patch on the skin that might be flat, elevated, circular, or oval. They can be flesh-colored, tan, brown, or even black. Over time or after exposure to the sun, they may also darken. However, if a mole suddenly changes color, becomes uneven in color, or contains multiple colors (such as patches of pink, red, white, or blue, or varying degrees of brown, tan, or black), it may be cause for concern.
A mole or patch that is dark in color or that is getting darker may also be a symptom of melanoma. If you detect a little, very dark area, it’s important to get it examined right away because these spots can be quite dangerous.
