#6 Eat Lots of Garlic
One of the most popular at-home treatments for colds is garlic. Garlic is used in many cultures’ traditional home remedies for colds, whether they involve eating raw garlic, making a drink with raw crushed garlic, or making chicken soup with a lot of garlic.
Allicin, which has shown antibacterial and antifungal characteristics, is assumed to be the component in garlic that fights colds. Garlic’s unique spicy flavor is due to allicin. Fresh garlic should be diced or crushed and eaten raw to obtain the most allicin possible. There are also pills you can take instead of eating raw garlic.Â
Garlic should be used cautiously by those using blood sugar-lowering medications because it may also decrease glucose levels and accelerate the release of insulin. Garlic should be avoided by those who have allergies to plants of the Liliaceae family, such as onions, leeks, and chives. Garlic supplements should be avoided by expectant mothers since they might make bleeding more likely.
