#5 Use a Humidifier
So, in regards to the humidifier, by maintaining moisture in your nasal passages, they are excellent for battling colds in the winter. Congestion can therefore be reduced as a result. Although there isn’t much scientific research on humidifiers, we believe they help because the warm, humid environment they produce helps mucus dissolve and improves breathing.
One condition, though: Constantly keep everything clean. If you don’t change the water in your humidifier and maintain it fresh, mildew and mold can grow and release airborne spores that are more harmful to your health than helpful.
Moreover, warm-mist humidifiers should be avoided if you have small children. This type of design can present burn concerns due to hot machine parts or tank leaks since it heats water to produce steam.
