There are people who do not assimilate certain minerals and vitamins well, and they do indeed need to take some supplements. However, these are generally prescribed by the doctor, and those who take them are under close surveillance, and they are not taking them over the course of their whole lives. Back at the height of the pandemic, a lot of people were taking vitamins to help boost their immune systems and prevent becoming infected with the virus, but most have stopped taking them since then.

Taking vitamins just because you think it is a good idea can lead to you taking too much of one or several of them, which comes along with severe health problems. For example, if you take too much vitamin B6, you can develop nerve toxicity, while an overabundance of vitamin D can lead to heart and liver problems. Too much zinc can lead to zinc poisoning, which can be really dangerous, and too much vitamin A can lead to death in the most extreme of cases.

So do not abuse these home remedies, and always speak with your doctor before you start taking or interrupt any vitamin prescription!
