Cloudy and smelly urine
Healthy urine is crystal clear, and it doesn’t have a strong odor. Cloudy and foul-smelling urine might be a sign of infection in your kidneys or any other part of your urinary tract. There’s a 2021 study that discovered that 16 percent of people with acute kidney stones had a UTI.
Cloudiness is also a sign of pus in the urine, also known as pyuria. The smell might come from the bacteria that caused the UTI. An odor could also come from the urine, especially if it’s more concentrated than usual. A UTI and a kidney stone are definitely surgical emergencies, even in the absence of a fever.
