Blood clot
Blood clots usually appear when our blood fails to flow around as it should, which causes the platelets to stick together. If blood clots develop in leg veins, then the blood can’t move back to the heart, which causes your ankles and feet to swell. Deep vein thrombosis usually occurs when blood clots form very deep in the legs. DVT is a very serious condition that could cause a blockage in the major leg veins. In some instances, the clots could even break loose and travel to the heart and lungs. Here are some of the most important symptoms of DVT:
- swelling in one leg
- pain, discomfort
- low-grade fever
- color changes in the leg
