2. Cavities
Another common cause of toothache is a cavity. These can easily form, mostly because of bad oral hygiene, and even a small one can cause a lot of pain. If you don’t take care of the cavity when it’s still just a spot, it can easily grow into a deeper and larger one that can affect the entire tooth. And then it will be much worse because, in most cases, people lose their teeth if the cavity is too big.
Since it’s not exactly easy to see them on your own, especially if we talk about interdental ones, you must visit your dentist regularly for cleanings to remove the cavity while it’s still small. In case you experience a toothache and your doctor isn’t available until next week or so, try this homemade cure right away: 8 ounces of warm (not hot!) water and a half teaspoon of salt should be combined, swished around the mouth, and then spittled out.
If this doesn’t work that well for you and you’re still facing a toothache, you can try pressing a cold compress cloaked in a soft towel against your cheek for a couple of minutes.
