Magnesium

Due to soil depletion, magnesium deficiency is more dominant than ever across the US population. Even people who follow a diet rich in plants struggle with this issue.

This mineral promotes relaxation throughout the body, and deficiency has been associated with depression, stress, anxiety and panic attacks. Insufficient magnesium intake is even more common in people consuming the Standard American Diet.

This includes high amounts of refined sugar, processed food, salt, alcohol, and caffeine. To fight this deficiency, include these foods in your diet:

-Dark chocolate: Choose a pure chocolate bar with no lecithin or any other additives. Chocolate can be quite healthy, but only if you       choose the right one.
-Avocados
-Almonds and cashews
-Legumes
-Flax, chia, and pumpkin seeds
