Streptococcus pneumonia
This bacteria is the cause of a lot of different types of diseases that could end up even being lethal if the infection is not caught soon. Streptococcus pneumonia is a bacteria known to affect the lungs and cause various lung infections, drug-resistant pneumonia, and a litany of other diseases. Some of these illnesses include the likes of sinus infections, ear infections, meningitis (the infection of the brain and spinal cord membranes), and bacteremia, which is a bloodstream infection.
While not all of them are drug-resistant diseases, the bacteria that causes them is the main focus, as it is resistant to different types of drugs, and if not caught in time, the repercussions can be dire. You can get Streptococcus pneumonia from another person who has been infected, through direct contact with them, or through their coughing and sneezing. So you may not even know that you came into contact with someone who has this bacteria.
