#1 Staying Hydrated
When you’re sick, your body loses more fluids. This is particularly true if you are sweating and experiencing a fever. You may be slightly more dehydrated for another cause, do you think? In the winter, once the air is drier, colds are more common. Your heater may also contribute to your body “drying out”, particularly the nose. You can fight this dehydration by consuming plenty of fluids and even using a humidifier.
Make sure to avoid alcoholic beverages, sugary drinks, and beverages with caffeine when it comes to choosing the right fluids. You can stay hydrated and relieve sore throat discomfort by drinking water or tea with a splash of lemon or honey. Additionally, a light, sodium-free soup can be helpful if you’re craving something a little bit tastier.
