5. Severe Headache

Sometimes, a cerebrovascular accident can mimic a bad headache. In fact, that’s one of the reasons why some people don’t seek medical assistance right away. They may believe they are just having a migraine and need to rest.

It’s important to never ignore a sudden, acute headache, especially if it’s accompanied by dizziness, vomiting, or drifting in and out of consciousness. If your loved one has a stroke, they may describe the headache as different or more severe than previous headaches. A stroke-related headache will also appear suddenly and for no known reason, and it is usually followed by other symptoms such as confusion and paralysis.

6. Loss of Coordination

A person experiencing a loss of coordination will also start to show symptoms similar to a loss of balance. They either sway from side to side or feel like everything is spinning around, which makes them unable to walk normally.

When you see your loved one lose their coordination, it may appear as if they have suddenly become clumsy or are under the influence of alcohol.
