The most common symptoms
The signs of this condition usually appear more slowly, subtly, and mildly than those of the female menopause. The drop in male hormone levels, or testosterone, is less dramatic than the drop in female hormone levels during menopause.
Some of the most common symptoms are:
- experiencing intense heat sensations;
- going through mood swings and easily becoming irritable;
- accumulation of fat around the belly and chest area;
- decreased muscle mass;
- dry and fragile skin;
- persistent and abundant sweating.
One study shows the presence of some other symptoms like extreme fatigue, being unable to walk more than half a mile, and difficulty doing intense physical activity such as jogging or lifting heavy items.
