Vision & hearing loss
Vision problems might represent one of the first signs of MS to most people. We’re talking about double vision, blurriness, pain, and even problems noticing contrast can appear out of the blue and affect one or both eyes.
In the majority of cases, vision problems can be temporary, but also self-limiting, and they might come as a result of nerve inflammation and fatigue of the eye muscles. Even if some people with MS can suffer from permanent vision problems, in most situations, the cases are mild and they can be immediately treated with some steroids or other treatments.
In some rare cases, patients who suffer from MS might even experience hearing loss or deafness, because the brainstem is damaged. These types of hearing issues are usually fixed on their own, but in some situations, they might become permanent.
