2. Weeping Fig

Most commonly known as a Ficus tree or Weeping Gif, Ficus Benjamina is a popular houseplant that does a good job keeping your lungs healthy. It’s also a great plant to have around if you’re dealing with poor indoor air quality, as it cleans and filters the air of dangerous pollutants like xylene, toluene, and formaldehyde.

This low-maintenance, evergreen plant does well both inside and out. Put the container outside during the spring months to let it attain its rich green splendor and bring it indoors during the summer and winter to benefit from its air-cleaning capabilities.

Water if frequently, but wait until the soil has dried before adding more water to prevent root rot.
