8. You may have pneumonia

According to doctors, if your symptoms include (or develop into) a consistent cough accompanied by green or brown mucus, shortness of breath, and a fever, it could be an infection like pneumonia.

This condition inflames the lungs’ air sacs, also known as alveoli, and most people usually complain of their lungs hurting and feeling bad in general. Pneumonia is most likely to affect those with chronic lung diseases, like emphysema or asthma, but can also affect perfectly healthy people.

If you’re dealing with any of these symptoms, you should seek medical help immediately, as this is a potentially life-threatening condition that requires prompt treatment.
