#8 Quitting smoking seems a lot easier
Research published in the Journal of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer found that 48% of the 115 lung cancer patients analyzed quit smoking spontaneously and with minimal effort before being diagnosed with lung cancer. The hypothesized explanation is that early lung cancer tumors release a chemical that inhibits nicotine addiction.
The good news is that if you quit smoking when you are in an early stage, your chances of survival could increase significantly.
More researchers have begun to investigate the impact of smoking on persons living with this disease in recent years. When a person quits smoking, his or her life’s quality, life expectancy, and other health indicators increase.
