Can aluminum particles in Deodorant cause cancer?
As we’ve discussed, there are many widely distributed articles that have raised concerns regarding using aluminum to stop sweat in its tracks. Many breast cancers begin at the top of the breast, around the armpit.
Some scientists have even famously argued that antiperspirant chemicals were filtering into the skin there, damaging DNA and leading to the growth of tumors. But in the end, this may be another one of those misconceptions about deodorant many people have.
The fact is that with so many studies on possible carcinogens, the results are inconclusive and mixed. Some say deodorants are toxic.
But there are also many others who say they don’t cause cancer. “There’s no convincing evidence that deodorant use increases cancer risk,” says Ted S. Gansler of the American Cancer Society.
