Soda
Consuming small amounts of added sugar isn’t the end of the world. But a can of soda has more artificial sweeteners present than experts say is ok for your recommended daily value.
Individuals who drink soda are more likely to be overweight and get type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart issues. And while scientists are still out on diet drinks, some research connects them to strokes and weight gain as well.
Your best bet on staying healthy is to drink carbonated, plain, or unsweetened flavored water.
Bread, White Rice, And Pasta
Rice, pasta, bread, and anything else made from white flour don’t include any vitamins, healthy fiber, or minerals. Refined grains convert to sugar fast, which your body will store as fat.
If you lead a lifestyle that’s high in refined grains, you can end up with excess belly fat, which studies link to having heart issues and type 2 diabetes.
To ensure a better life quality, you should try to get at least 1/2 of your grains from whole grains like oats, brown rice, and whole wheat. When you go grocery shopping, look for labels with the words “100% whole grain.”
