Here’s another plant that will take care of your lungs. Chrysanthemums, or simply mums, are common, inexpensive perennial houseplants. While most people may choose this plant for its lovely flowers, researchers found something quite interesting: Chrysanthemums were among the best at removing pollutants from the air. A second study showed that this plant is also able to filter ammonia from the air.

They are more difficult to grow than the other houseplants on this list, but they make up for it in color. Choose the color you want, house it in a pot, place it in a corner that gets indirect sunlight, and make sure you water it when the soil is dry.
