COVID-19 has significantly affected our lives over the last three years. The number of cases and deaths related to the coronavirus has risen and fallen along with waves of variants and subvariants. But there’s one constant, experts say: an increase in long COVID cases.
But what exactly does long COVID mean? Well, it refers to the wide range of ongoing, new, or returning health issues that can impact people weeks or even months after they have recovered from a coronavirus infection. The World Health Organization defines this condition as having symptoms that usually start within three months of having COVID-19, last for at least two months, and can’t be related to another health issue.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, some of the symptoms are fatigue, heart palpitations, and brain fog. However, symptoms can vary from individual to individual, which means it’s not that easy to diagnose.
We’ve spoken with some long COVID experts, and they told us what the most common symptoms are and what you can do to help yourself recover.

I have been following you for many years along with others that offer great information. God Bless you and all others that follow your path. Thank you once again!!
You’re a article since check these out and then there’s nothing to check out
No taste no smell and food taste from food is atrocious
I have had little to no taste since having Covid and it makes eating a chore rather than one of life’s pleasures. I used to love food, cooking and baking.
Since I got the booster shots almost a year ago, my taste of food is altered to the point that if you blindfolded me and asked what I was eating, I wouldn’t know. How much longer must I wait until this corrects itself?
That’s how I am about taste but mine are due to getting covid in 2021. My taste and smell are far from normal again. I don’t think it ever will be.
I developed “vertigo” after taking shot. I take ” meclizine” to help when I feel coming on. Is this permanent?
Since having the Covid shots (2) the last one in February, 2021,I have had to lean to walk again (this being with the help of a walker), kidney problems, and 24/7 care. I can’t work, cook, wash clothes, shop, housework, etc. Will I ever be able to do these things again?
I’ve had two doctors tell me they believe my medical conditions are due to reaction to Covid-19 vaccine.
I would call this Long Covid! And with no hope of getting better and no one to blame.
Have you ever heard of “vax damage” My doctors told me I have “long covid” but in the beginning they wouldn’t admit there was a thing. Now I’ve come to find out about “vax damage”. Interesting, the symptoms for both illnesses are exactly the same. I wish you well.
The symptoms being described here are not from the vaccine but from getting Covid. The vaccines do prevent you from getting Covid as severely as those not vaccinated. The symptoms are annoying but treatable. Continuing to receive the boosters is what keeps the hospitalization numbers lower than when Covid first became a pandemic. Flu shots are needed each year due to variants, Covid shots also. Remember when Covid first closed down the US there were less cases of Flu due to everyone staying indoors. Since this time we have gone out again and without precautions new variants of both diseases can strike those who are not vaccinated.
I received the COVID shots back in Mar/Apr 21. The prior November I received two shingle shots. In May I went to my dermatologist since I saw some scale/itchy skin on my forehead, not know what it was. She looked at it and when I told her about the covid and shingles shots, she told me it was shingles and I was not the first case she had seen. The COVID vaccine activated the shingles virus (presumably from the shingles shot which is a dead virus). I thought that was not possible. From then on, I decided to never get another COVID shot. Now I am generally healthy, 80 years old, and have had skin melanoma and had prostate cancer a few years ago. I exercise daily and consider myself to be above average in fitness (I am a fitness instructor). I never had COVID and for myself, I believe that it is not in my best interest.
I had the Covid in 221 . For 9 months I was not able to drive because afraid of going out. I developed hearth palpitations, fatalistic, afraid of being in a group of people.
Sadness for no reason. I was a “scary cat” .I even went to Counseling and tried Hypnossis. (it did not help)
Even two years later: Brain Fog. My family doctor told me that many people have long lasting effects (even 3 years after de Covid ) I am doing much better. Thanks to God.
The first time I had Covid was in March 2022 while on a trip to Ireland. When I went to the Dr in May 2022 my blood pressure was high. It was always fine or even low. Since then I have been on blood pressure medications and my blood pressure has been hard to control. I read that people over 65 are experiencing this from Covid and I am in that age group. I also experience numbness in my legs and cramps while lying down. I had Covid again in Dec 2023. I have had all the vaccines.
My best friend came down with Covid in January 2020. She lost a lot of weight and started having really bad panic attacks. In October 2020 she committed suicide. I think she was probably having a panic attack when she shot herself.
I’ve had long covid for 3+ yrs now, I exercise, eat well, have seen several docs who really had no help for me!
I exercise, stay positive, and just deal with the never ending physical discomfort’s. My digestive system has calmed down, as that was so much discomfort. I’m
still looking for a group to connect with!
Thank you
Kathleen (Retired RN)
Ive have covid 5 times. I have brain fog, fatigue, had a heart attack 6 weeks after the 2nd time of covid, i lost my smell and taste 3 yrs later i still dont have it back. I have heads all the time, menieres disease is bad.
I was diagnosed with Mysathenia Gravis in July 2024 had covid in August 2021. had vac in Oct 2021
At least doctors are saying Covid shots cause life changing problems.. including deaths
Dr. Ardis…..nicotine patches or gum, 2 mg. 6 days….. Nicotine replaces the receptors covid has attached to…..symptoms gone, cured!
So true solution is …? Nicotine. Print that!
Ive become allergic to all antibiotics except one. I’m constantly tired. Cant sleep then when i do sleep its way too long. Always worn out. My legs give out from under me. Brain fog really bad. Gut issues. Headaches worse than ever. No taste. Always cold. Will i ever get reluef??
I had covid3 years ago and my balance has been awful. now a walker and very weak legs.I can not stand without holding onto something or someone. I was very sick . Now I wonder if shots did it or the covid.
I would like to know when the public is going to be informed of these long covid/ vaccine injuries. I’ve been experiencing many health issues and doctors become deaf at the mention of Covid being responsible. It is not discussed. currently my blood sugar has been higher then usual and I am having a hard time getting it to a more normal range. Why do we see more encouragement to take the Covid shot if it is known that it causes these long term ill effects? It was known early on that it does not prevent a person from getting covid and the symptoms of the virus has mutated to more of a very bad head cold then a fatal respiratory virus, so why the encouragement of injecting ourselves with something that just exacerbates inflammation and makes us feel ill? These are my questions.
I received covid shot in October, week later developed “Vertigo “. Is this permanent? I’m taking “meclizine ” when I fell coming on. Very uneasy feeling!
No one is saying that Long Covid is caused by the vaccines! It is probably caused by the Covid virus itself.
The last Covid-19 vaccine I received caused my lymph nodes to swell up. My doctor said that was not a side effect, but about 3 months later a report came out and said that lymph nodes can be affected by taking the vaccine. This summer I contracted Covid not a great outcome, I have muscle pains, brain fog, loss of energy, severe stomach issues: diarrhea and stomach pains for a continuous stomachache for about 3-4 weeks afterwards. balancing problems and general fatigue. This is all a result of Covid, now I’m afraid of taking the vaccine.
I had Covid19 over a year ago and it left me with a (short term memory loss and a taste in my mouth that makes me sick to my stomach and lost of appetite what can I get to help the taste in my mouth.
I have gotten ” Vertigo ” after taking shot in October. I’m taking “Meclizine” . Is this permanent?
I’ve developed vertigo! Got the shot in October and week later woke up to vertigo. I also have slight loss of taste. I have to dose with salt to taste!
5 times of having covid each time I get it I have more signs of long covid. In November 2019 left with sever bone pain. In 2021 I lost my taste and smell and havent gotten it back. 2022 I had covid 3 weeks later had a widow maker and my blood looked like chocolate pudding. Since then I have had covid 2023 left with muscle weakness. more times each time is another symptoms. 2024 Dec. Severe laryngitis and still hoarse.
I had Covid twice plus the variant several times. Only got the initial vaccine. Still have long haulers signs which are affecting every part of me with no answers from the doctor or help from anyone
For the last three years, I have been battling UTI’s constantly. I have finally determined it is due to Covid or the shots. Every time I eat chicken or pork, I get a UTI. This last year I have had about 12 of them. I just now tested positive for another one. Another trip to Med Express tomorrow. The last one I-had was due to putting bacon in my lima bean soup. My Urologist tells me food can’t cause a UTI,
Long Covid is another way of saying “I took the clot shot.”
Just what are the effects or symptoms of long covid? I have had what I thought was a cold off and on for the last month. I have been sneezing like heck, my nose is running and stuffed up, I have no energy at all and I am always thirsty. I drink close to or at least a gallon of water a day. Is that any part of covid?
I had a 30 day bout of VCovid in 2021. Still have very limited taste and most food tastes like nothing. It’s frustrating and disheartening.
