3. Prostate Cancer
This form of cancer only occurs in men and is highly treatable when discovered in its early stages. It begins in the prostate gland, which is located between the bladder and the penis. Doctors don’t know what exactly causes it, but the risk goes up with age.
Signs include needing to pee often, especially at night; pain during urination (it may feel like a burning sensation); trouble getting or keeping an erection; problems urinating, like trouble holding back or starting urination; an interrupted flow of urine, leaking, or a sudden, uncontrollable urge to urinate; blood in the ejaculation fluid or urine; changes in ejaculation, such as a reduction in the amount of fluid ejaculated or pain during ejaculation; pain in your pelvic area, hips, thighs, or lower back.
This disease doesn’t usually cause early warning signs. If you’re a man over 55 and don’t experience any of the symptoms above, experts recommend talking to your doctor to see if you should be tested for the disease.
If you do experience these symptoms, seek medical help immediately. These symptoms can also be caused by other health issues, like prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate).
