#3 You Should Definitely Avoid Toxic Products Like Alcohol and Cigarettes

You probably saw this one coming, but if you happen to have the habit of smoking or you enjoy alcohol in large quantities, it’s high time you give it up. Not only are they bad for your health in the long run, but they also visibly weaken your immune system.

When it comes to alcohol, it doesn’t mean to avoid it completely. After all, in certain cases, it even helps your health to have a glass of red wine, but you should definitely limit it. Getting used to drinking a lot on the regular may end up lowering the number of T and B cells in your body, which lengthens your recovery period after getting sick and lowers your body’s ability to fight infections.

On a day-to-day basis, you can still enjoy one drink, the equivalent of a 4-ounce glass of wine, if you’re a woman, and two drinks of the same equivalent if you’re a man.

However, when it comes to smoking, there’s no way around it, and you should try to quit it as soon as possible. Both alcohol and cigarettes are considered toxic products, but while alcohol gets this distinction only when consumed in large quantities, cigarettes don’t. This is because they release a lot of chemicals that affect your whole body, including the inhibition of immune cells (which are the B and T cells).

Anything about smoking traditional cigarettes is a threat to your body, and it puts you up for a lot of health issues, which also include cancer, bacterial and viral infections of the lungs (including tuberculosis and pneumonia), and many others.
